Rocking for a reason - Taylor Gritzmaker and Scottie Hamann, above, enjoyed a free “Get Rooted” concert last Friday sponsored by Heart O’ the Lakes UB Church. Approximately 150 students attended the event, which included hip hop and rap music, performed by Jerome and the Second Coming. The evening also consisted of testimonies and skits performed by local students. Many teens answered a call to make a change in their lives and to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Teens were then invited to attend a discpleship service on Sunday evening, May 19, at the church. Individuals of all ages were invited to “take their faith a little deeper and to Get Rooted in God’s word.” The ongoing discpleship class is titled “IronWorks”, and is open to the public. It will be held on Saturday evenings, from 6 to 8 p.m. for the next eight weeks.

Heart O' Lakes UB Church is located at 7031 Jefferson  Road, Brooklyn. For more information, contact Pastor Wesley Skiles at 592-8623.
