Workshop offered for Alzheimer's Caregivers The Alzheimer's Association will present "Caring for a Person With Late Stage Alzheimer's Disease," an education program for professional and family caregivers, on Tuesday, May 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Countryside Retirement Community, 2121 Robinson Road, Jackson. Designed to help caregivers cope with the challenges of late stage Alzheimer's, the program provides information on the physical symptoms of late stage disease and offers guidance on where to turn for help when making end-of-life decisions. Caregivers will also learn what to expect as the disease progresses and how to make meaningful connections with their loved one during this challenging time. Jean Teifer of Arbor Hospice will discuss the benefits of palliative care and hospice services. The program is free and open to the public.
